Milk at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop is a vibrant café nestled in the artistic heart of Newhaven, Edinburgh. With its community-centric atmosphere and picturesque views overlooking the sculpture workshops, it’s a haven for both locals and visitors alike. Patrons rave about the homemade cakes, including standout options like the carrot cake and the orange, almond, and polenta loaf. For those catering to vegan diets, the selection is generous and equally delightful.
Beyond the tempting treats, the café offers a well-curated brunch and lunch menu, making it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and professional meetings. Customers appreciate the bright, relaxed vibe; however, it’s worth noting that the buzzing atmosphere can get a tad noisy during peak hours. Dog-friendly and located just off the scenic Water of Leith Pathway, Milk perfectly blends culinary delight with nature's charm.
Whether you’re there to enjoy a flat white or a scrumptious cranberry cookie, it’s clear that Milk is not just a café, but a delightful experience waiting to be savored. Don’t miss out on this culinary gem!

Tried it for the first time and wish we went sooner! It’s a gorgeous cafe with a nice community-feel, and is overlooking the Sculpture Workshops. They had a great selection of homemade cakes and treats (with lots of vegan options). We tried the carrot cake and the orange, almond and polenta loaf. They were absolutely delicious! We also had flat whites which were great. The brunch and lunch menu looked incredible so we will need to come try it out. The cafe was packed so it’s obviously well liked! Give it a try if you’re in Newhaven or nearby.

Milk proved an ideal place for sharing work ideas over a coffee and cake. The venue is bright and has a relaxed, friendly vibe. Our meeting was so successful we stayed on for lunch, which was delicious. The only drawback is that it became quite noisy when it was busy.

Great location, just off the Water of Leith Pathway. Lovely spot to relax and enjoy your cakes. Unfortunately, there is only take away service at the moment. You can have your cake and eat it, while enjoying birds singing in the magic of the sunset. In addition, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop is a great venue itself, as a recognizable modern building.

Great little cafe that is 100% dog-friendly. When we came in today, there were just as many dogs as people. Good food choices although breakfast is on the smaller side. Try the cranberry cookie :) you won’t regret it

Great spot to grab a coffee and catch up on a bit of work. Nice staff, chill vibe, and you can bring your dog too.

GREAT CAFE FOR CHILLING Came here at around 10am on a Saturday for breakfast and there was a full table available inside. There were quite a few available outside as well. The QR code for the table worked perfectly and it's very easy to order your food. The service was rapid with everything coming out within minutes of the order being placed. I got the Chorizo breakfast. The chorizo is amazing and the richness of the meat is balanced nicely with the sweet spicy flavours coming from it as well. I always enjoy coming here and checking out the pastry selections as well.

Been there for a few times. Great coffee and friendly staff. Loved especially its bright and uplifting environment with expanses of floor-to-ceiling glazing! Outdoor seats are also fab on sunny days.

Newhaven’s best kept secret! This place is amazing. Super bright space with plenty outside seating. The pastries and cakes are always delicious and the lunch options are great. Can watch the sculptors do their work in the courtyard
